Second, every business has overhead costs, salaries, storage spaces, costs to have these people appraise these items, and they have to cover losses from when deals are bad or people steal things. They have to make money for utilities, money to buy new items, insurance, cleaning the store, mainenance, to continue upgrading equipment, to buy new equipment, fix their cars for the business, licenses, and security. They need reserves for emergencies, like COVID, and for themselves too. Having slim profit margins is a stupid idea.
