Samarkand, Uzbekistan—probable remains from the eighth century Advertisement The palace has been discovered at the Mingtepa archaeological site in southeastern Uzbekistan, according to a kun.uz Report. Yahyo Gulomov Amriddin Berdimuradov, Khusnidin Rakhmonov and Nigora Makhkamova of the Samarkand Archaeological Institute explored the palace complex within the citadel at the site. Statues have been found in the main hall of the palace. The discovery is expected to provide information about early medieval urban planning, architecture and systems of state administration.
