At the end of the day you have to live with these TV's. The interface, remote, upscaling, design, sound, glossy display, etc is better on the sony.
If you want extra brightness pop on your a95L just use the advanced contrast enhancer. I notice it does not really detract from the overall image much.

My father was was in the Air Force and when he met my mom in Japan they had a friend who gave my dad an old sword on me being born in Japan. My dad and mom passed away leaving me a bunch of Japanese pottery’s among other things like that sword. I bet it’s worth some good money. I don’t know if I’m ready to give it up for sale.
