In order to properly use a sundial you have to get your position on Earth, your latitude, and figure that into your calculations. "A couple of degrees of stupid over my limit" that's a great one out of the Old Man. I'll be using that one.

Back in 1992 my wife and I went to a little junk store who thought it was an antique store. After chatting, the owner discovered I had graduated 8 years earlier with a degree in physics. He said, I have just the thing for you. He said he had a Geiger counter, but instead, he had this same exact model scintillated in museum quality condition. No rust, no dings, no corrosion even in the battery compartment. It looked ban new. It came with the owners manual, the perfect condition leather case with shoulder strap, and the really scary pad=rt, it came with a disk contains a known quantity of uranium used to calibrate the device settings.
He sold it to me for only $10. I took 24 pictures and listed at auction on ebay. It sold for $283 which was a ton of money back then equal to about 2 car payments!

That Scintillation Detector at time 1638 looked cool with the leather bag included. I would easily give her 140 for it. I would even go to 300. The GM Tube and its Calibration may not be up to par. But I would definitely sit it on my Coffee Table, right next to my coffee cup. I've performed different types of Radiation Surveys many many times years back, Yes I am a NUKE. ELT to boot.
